Panther Women's Soccer To Celebrate 25th Year Anniversary6/2/2008 - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team will celebrate 25 years of soccer throughout the 2008 season, head coach Michael Moynihan announced today. Milwaukee's women's soccer program achieved varsity status in 1984 and this season will mark its 25th season of competition. The program will have a handful of events and promotions to celebrate the season, including selecting the 25th Anniversary Starting 11, greatest team in school history and the greatest game. Three teams from the Big Ten and three teams that qualified for the 2007 NCAA Tournament highlight the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team's 2008 schedule, head coach Michael Moynihan released today. The Panthers will open the season against Big Ten foes Wisconsin and Ohio State, while also playing Northwestern Sept. 24. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team closed out its 2008 spring season with a pair of decisive wins over Big Ten foes last Sunday in Evanston, Ill. The Panthers first defeated Iowa, 3-1, before downing host Northwestern, 3-0. Milwaukee wrapped up its spring slate with a 4-1-2 record, including five games against teams from the Big East, Big Ten and Big XII. Read Full Release |
